Last night Otago Yacht Club wrapped up the final TGIF social event of the year with a packed clubroom and a great dose of cruising inspiration, as members Cara & Julian Real shared stories from their Pacific adventure aboard SV Taurus.

Cara and Julian took us on a journey from NZ to Minerva Reef, through Tonga, Fiji and Vanuatu, across to New Caledonia, then down Australia’s East Coast and on to Tasmania. Their talk captured the full spectrum of cruising from postcard-perfect anchorages, friendly villages and magic sailing days, to challenging passages, many breakages, weather decisions, and the realities of life aboard.
