We have a full programme of racing throughout the sailing season. Because of the limiting depth of the upper harbour we generally race on alternate weekends. We have a range of races from full regattas for all classes to extended harbour races for trailer yachts and keelers as well as races outside the harbour for trailer yachts and keelers. These go as far North as Waikouaiti and to White Island in the South. Safety requirements vary according to the distance and exposure of the race and are published in the notice of race for each race.
Several of our members go to various races on the southern lakes. These range from Te Anau Downs in the South to the Donald Hay on Lake Wakatipu, further North, Wanaka has a regatta with the Crescent Island race as well as a round the bouys series and the most popular of all of these is the Lake Aviemaore race at Labour weekend which often has class championship races beforehand. ILCA racing is now catered for by a series of races at different venues
