⛵ MAC & BACK RACE – THIS SUNDAY! ⛵

Come and join us for one of our favourite club sailing events — the Mac & Back Race!

We’ll be heading off at 10:00am on Sunday for a great day out on the water, sailing up to Mac and back.

This event has been a real highlight over the last few years and is a fantastic opportunity to get out on the water, enjoy some good racing and have a bit of fun with other club members.

Don’t have a boat? No problem!We have club boats available for members to use, and there will also be crew places available for anyone who would like to get out sailing and be part of the action.

Whether you’re a regular racer, an experienced sailor, or you’re keen to get back on the water after a break, come along and join in. It’s a great chance to sail with different people, enjoy the competition and make the most of the summer season.

Once we’re back, we’ll head into the clubrooms for nibbles and snacks, with the bar open.

OYC Opening Day

Join us for the Otago Yacht Club Opening Day and help us celebrate the beginning of another exciting sailing season!

This year, we are combining our Opening Day with Vauxhall Yacht Club, making it a wonderful opportunity for members of both clubs to come together and enjoy a great day on the water.

The race will start at 1:30 pm, with a race briefing held at 12:00 noon in the clubrooms. Please arrive in plenty of time to prepare your boat and attend the briefing.

Crew spaces will be available for anyone who would like to take part but does not have a boat. You may be able to join one of our club members or take out one of the club boats, subject to availability. Whether you are an experienced sailor or simply interested in getting out on the harbour, we would love to have you involved.

After the racing, everyone is invited back to the clubrooms for drinks, nibbles and a chance to catch up with fellow sailors. 

We hope to see you on the water for a fantastic Opening Day!
