Race Results from Winter Series 8 August

It was a fantastic day on the water, filled with excitement! We had a total of 12 entries and 13 boats out on the water, with 11 boats officially participating in the race. The atmosphere was perfect, with a bright, sunny afternoon and a steady wind adding to the thrill. Gusts reached up to 26 knots, providing an exhilarating challenge.

Fortunately, the course remained unchanged. The keel boats had just enough water to navigate around the course, which made for some competitive and spirited racing. 

After the race, everyone convened at the bar to relax and celebrate the day's accomplishments. A big thank you to Ann for providing delicious food and drinks.

We truly appreciate everyone’s participation and enthusiasm. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did! We are looking forward to seeing you all again for the last race of the season on August 29. Please note that, unfortunately, we've had to cancel the race originally scheduled for September 26.

Results for Saturday, 11 July, Winter series 

The Race and Social Sailing event over the weekend was fantastic.

After a week of cold weather, snow, and rain, Saturday brought clear skies and sunshine! Although we had very light winds, the course was slightly shortened.

There were five boats on the water and two club boats out, making for a wonderful sight of so many vessels participating during the long weekend. After sailing, we enjoyed soup and bread back at the club rooms, which made for a perfect winter warmer.

Results from Saturday, June 13th

The forecast for the day was excellent, with light winds and calm seas, resulting in a great turnout of boats. We had twelve boats at the start line, including two club boats and around six visitors for social sailing. 

There was a light breeze when we started, but within an hour, all the wind disappeared, and the course had to be shortened. 

It was wonderful to see the clubroom fill with members after the race. Thank you, Ann, for the food, and Gray for managing the bar. 

Overall, it was a fantastic day on the water. The next race is scheduled for July 11th, combined with social sailing.

Closing Day and Cross Ditch Race Results – 26 April

Closing Day and the rerun of the Cross Ditch Race on 26 April was a great success for the club. We had an excellent turnout with 12 boats entered and 10 boats making it to the start line, which was very pleasing to see. The weather gave us a little bit of everything, with some good gusts of wind during the race along with a few patches of rain, which helped make for an enjoyable and challenging sail for all competitors.

It was fantastic to see so many members out on the water supporting the event and making the most of the final race day of the season. 

Following the race, members gathered back at the clubhouse for a great BBQ and social afternoon. A big thank you goes to Anne and all of the other helpers who assisted with organizing food and the clean up on the day. Your efforts were very much appreciated and helped make the event a real success.

The bar was also open after racing, and it was wonderful to see approximately 35 club members staying on to enjoy a drink, catch up, and share stories from the day on the water. The atmosphere in the clubhouse was excellent and it was a fitting way to celebrate Closing Day together as a club.

Overall, the day was a very successful finish to the sailing season, with strong participation both on and off the water, and a great sense of club spirit throughout the afternoon.

It was summer closing day, but we do have plans for some racing in the winter months and for social sailing on Saturdays. Keep informed through the website
